Safety

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Mustang Mach-E has a standard Reverse Brake Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Eletre doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Mustang Mach-E and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E (built after August 2024) has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Eletre has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

Warranty

The Mustang Mach-E comes with free roadside assistance for 5 years 60,000 miles. Ford will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

Ford’s powertrain warranty covers the Mustang Mach-E 2 years and 24,000 miles longer than Lotus covers the Eletre. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Eletre ends after only 3 years or 36,000 miles.

There are almost 75 times as many Ford dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Mustang Mach-E’s warranty.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Mustang Mach-E can travel with zero emissions for 240 to 320 miles (dependent on model). The Eletre can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Chassis

The Ford Mustang Mach-E may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 900 to 1100 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.

The Mustang Mach-E Select/Premium is 1 foot, 3.3 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the Mustang Mach-E easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Mustang Mach-E is 5.4 inches narrower than the Eletre, making the Mustang Mach-E easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

Cargo Capacity

The Mustang Mach-E has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Eletre with its rear seat up (29.7 vs. 24 cubic feet). The Mustang Mach-E has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Eletre with its rear seat folded (59.7 vs. 54 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Mustang Mach-E’s exterior PIN entry system. The Eletre doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Mustang Mach-E has a standard rear wiper. The Eletre doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
