2025 Ford Mustang GTD
2025 Lamborghini Revuelto

Safety

The Mustang GTD has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Revuelto doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Mustang GTD’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Revuelto doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Mustang GTD and the Revuelto have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems and rearview cameras.

The Ford Mustang GTD weighs 436 pounds more than the Lamborghini Revuelto. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

Ford’s powertrain warranty covers the Mustang GTD 2 years longer than Lamborghini covers the Revuelto. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Revuelto ends after only 3 years.

There are over 69 times as many Ford dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Mustang GTD’s warranty.

Reliability

The Revuelto’s redline is at 9500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Mustang GTD has a 7650 RPM redline.

The Mustang GTD has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Revuelto doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the car’s engine.

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ford Mustang GTD higher (4 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Revuelto (2). This means the Mustang GTD produces up to 15.6 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Revuelto every 15,000 miles.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Mustang GTD’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Revuelto:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Mustang GTD has larger front tires than the Revuelto (F:325/30R20 & R:345/30R20 vs. F:265/35R20 & R:345/30R21). The Mustang GTD’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Revuelto (325/30R20 vs. 265/30R21).

The Mustang GTD’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Revuelto’s standard 35 series front tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Mustang GTD is .2 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the Revuelto.

The Mustang GTD’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Revuelto’s (43.7% to 56.3%). This gives the Mustang GTD more stable handling and braking.

The Mustang GTD handles at 1.17 G’s, while the Revuelto pulls only 1.10 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Mustang GTD’s turning circle is .6 feet tighter than the Revuelto’s (37.8 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

Chassis

For excellent aerodynamics, the Mustang GTD has standard flush composite headlights. The Revuelto has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

Ergonomics

The Mustang GTD has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Revuelto doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Mustang GTD’s standard Intelligent Access allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. keyless entry system standard on the Revuelto doesn’t offer a sensor on the trunk.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Mustang GTD has standard extendable sun visors. The Revuelto doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Mustang GTD’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Revuelto’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The Ford Mustang GTD has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Lamborghini charges extra for Homelink® on the Revuelto.

The Mustang GTD is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Revuelto, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Mustang GTD offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Revuelto.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Mustang GTD equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Revuelto, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Ford Mustang GTD empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

Recommendations

The Ford Mustang outsold the Lamborghini Revuelto by almost 161 to one during 2024.
